This is a magnificient shop! It's an old theatre, filled with hundreds of racks of charts! (SB charts, but no kits.) Every fiber imaginable! Hundreds of stitched models on display!! Good selection of fabric, which they will cut-to-size. Only negatives about this shop is the free-roaming parrot and that owner's husband does smoke cigars in shop. -- {Marci}

This store is wonderful! It is situated in an old home and has rooms full of charts, kits, Sudberry, Mill Hill (including Treasures), books, candles and more!!! The shop owner, Claire Ludwig is a gem - as nice as they come. She will order anything that she doesn’t have - but usually that is not necessary, and is very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a wonderful selection of fabrics - even weaves and linens including hand-dyed. Specialty threads including Caron Collection, Needle Necessities, Rainbow Gallery and more. Claire also has a GREAT selection of framing supplies and frames on-premises. Lots and lots of samples stitched up and framed. Lots of stitching do-dads too (OTT and DAZOR lights, scissors and needle cases). The Country Store is right off the Garden State Parkway - exit 129 I believe - and it is open the first Sunday of every month. The "late night" is Thursday. Summer hours are different though - so a call might be good to check. Here are more detailed directions: ...from the Garden State Parkway South, take exit 129 (comes up quickly after 130 for rt1) - the exit splits off so stay to the right. DO NOT FOLLOW the signs for the New Jersey Turnpike. Follow the signs for 440 around a bit and take the exit for it that says "New Brunswick Avenue". The Country Store is about 3 blocks up on the right side - there is a parking lot behind a stockade fence right before the store. ...from the Garden State North, take exit 127 and follow the signs for 440. (I have not taken this route so I cannot get more specific, but I know that if you wait for 129 you will have gone too far). -- {Diane}

Barb, the owner, and Willie, her right hand gal, are friendly and knowledgeable about counted-cross-stitch. I can usually find the latest Lizzie Kate, Bent Creek and Shepherd's Bush charts and kits there. She carries a wide assortment of fibers, fabrics and other designers, and needlepoint yarn and canvases. If she doesn't have what I am looking for she will order it. Barb will call to let me know that something I "might" be interested in has just arrived. She is usually right!! Red Bank is located near exit 109 of the Garden State Parkway. -- {Nancy}

There is a wonderful cross stitch shop in Cape May,NJ. Stitch By Stitch is located on Washington Street (just across the street for the senior citizen apt. building-Victorian Towers),and right next door to the Methodist Church. They have lots and lots of cross stitch, threads, charts, material, frames, buttons, embelishments and more. The owner is Sharon Kraemer. She is very helpful and will gladly help you find what you need. If she doesn't have it, she will also order it and mail it to you if necessary.
