POSTING POLICIES
(in no particular order)
Note: You do not have to agree with any of these rules, but please respect and follow them for posting on the CSC bulletin boards. Any violation of these rules will prompt the deletion of the post -- without notice! So if you ever have a question as to policy, before you jump off the deep end, please write me and ask -- there is usually a very easy explanation. Thanks!
This is a private board and the owner has the right to delete WITHOUT NOTICE any offensive or objectionable post. And no ... this does NOT violate your "freedom of speech"!! Freedom of speech means that the government cannot put legal controls on what people say or think. It doesn't mean that a business person can't have rules for posting on a board that she owns and operates as a private citizen. And freedom is NOT free! Remember, there are consequences for our actions!
Absolutely NO profanity!! As innocent as you may feel it is ... I don't feel any profanity is innocent.
Any posts using profanity will be deleted --- the entire thread.
So please, be careful with your language.
Advertising:
If you (shop, designer, etc.) sell directly to the public, then you fall under this rule. If you are WHOLESALE ONLY, it does not apply to you.
I have an understanding with all the Top Echelon shops that they do not advertising their shops on these boards. This includes having employees and/or relatives post notes.
This also includes advertising your shop in your custom signature. Please do not put a link to your Internet shop site in your signature. This is considered advertising and is not allowed.
If you have a shop and would like for me to put a link on the Cross Stitch Corner web page, please e-mail me with that request, but please do not use these boards for advertising. I will look at the site and investigate it further and add it to the web site if appropriate. I will also be glad to add your information to the State’s listings so everyone can see it. Take a look at the shop site and send me all the needed information. In that listing, you can brag all you want!!!
If you are a designer, let me know and I will add your link to the designer's listing.
We have lots of designers who post (and some who post incognito!) Some give us the info first!! So you never know what you will find out. Also, if a designer has a web site, I will be glad to add it to the designer's page on my site.
Registration:
Please register with some form of your real name. If you can't register using your real name or your nickname, then chances are, you are doing something inappropriate.
Please make your e-mail address public so everyone has access to it. Or put it in the message.
Slamming:
Absolutely no slamming or foul language allowed. If any profanity is used in a post, it will be deleted immediately WITHOUT NOTICE. Remember the golden rule ladies ... "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". And this rule applies to slamming shops as well as individuals. Remember that it is difficult to express things such as tone of voice, mannerisms, etc. in a post, so be careful. And if a post has disappeared, please understand that it has contained something foul and is being removed quickly so no one has to deal with it. If a post contains profanity, that user will be banned from the board, no questions asked or notice given!
eBay:
Absolutely, positively, NO eBay links allowed.
General:
Copies:
And ABSOLUTELY NO posting about making copies of a chart. Don’t offer to make a copy ... don’t ask for a copy to be made ... don’t send anyone a copy ... NO COPIES!! And no scanning and e-mail of charts. This is illegal and violates the copyright laws. This includes copies of ANY chart, kit, magazine, book, etc.
Due to the massive amount of posts we receive, if a post is removed, we do not have the ability or time to notify you of its removal.
That’s the basics. These forums will be here for your enjoyment and use as they have been for over 9 years. These boards have always been a very nice, relaxing place for everyone to enjoy the favorite hobby. So let’s continue along on that stitch!!!
